Our Story:
Tricon Solar (Pty) Ltd is a privately owned company with a rich history of innovation and commitment to energy efficiency. Established in November 2008 by a group of Consulting Electrical & Mechanical Engineers, our journey began with a vision to develop cutting-edge electrical energy-saving products, including solar and power generation solutions, tailored for the unique demands of the South African market.
At our core, we aimed to alleviate the burden of high electricity costs, driven by both connection fees and consumption rates, at a time when South Africa faced challenges of power shortages and soaring utility bills. We set out to empower property owners and developers, enabling them to operate independently during power interruptions and load-shedding.

Expanding Horizons:
While our initial focus was on identifying and supplying energy-saving products in the South African market, our dedication and expertise soon led us to diversify our services. In early 2012, we expanded into the design and installation of electrical energy-efficient systems for commercial and domestic markets across the African continent.
Our foresight was validated when South African building legislation (SANS 10400-XA: 2011 and SANS-204: 2011) was introduced in November 2011, emphasizing the importance of energy efficiency and electricity savings in new constructions. We had anticipated this shift years in advance, positioning Tricon Solar as a leader in the field.
Our Heat Pump technology comes in two main types: air to water and water to water. Using three key components – an evaporator, a condenser, and a pump – the heat pump extracts heat from the air and transfers it to the water, providing a reliable and energy-efficient water heating solution. The installation of the Heat Pump requires a well-ventilated area to facilitate the heat exchange process effectively.
